Who is Moni?

A cultured West Coast girl with Mid-Western swag! No, seriously I was born and raised in San Francisco, CA by parents who originated from Indiana. I now reside in Oakland, CA. Writing has always been my outlet as far back as I can remember. Being a shy person most of my life, writing was my therapy, writing vindicated me and writing allowed my hopes and dreams on paper to become manifestations.  Writing is me. Though I love all forms of writing, my favorite forms are inspirational and screenwriting. If there’s anything that I hope my website accomplishes, it is for you to be encouraged by my topics. In exchange, I invite you to support me in my growth and pursuits in mastering my arts.

What inspired “Moni’s Pearls”?

Throughout my life’s journey, I’ve been told that I am wise beyond my years. After a while I became the go-to person for, I guess you can say, wise counsel. Ultimately the thought of capturing experiences/lessons and putting them into written form helped birth the initial concept of my website.  In the process I began brainstorming a website name. “Moni’s Wisdom” was plain so I researched other words with similar meanings.  Throughout history, pearls are known to be a symbol of “wisdom”. Plus, one of my favorite necklaces is a string of pearls I inherited from my mother.  I felt that “Moni’s Pearls” was appropriate and personal.  As I started writing topics that others may relate to, I also thought that my website would be the perfect space to share my passion for film, screenwriting and visuals.
